BREA LIBRARY WINTER READING PROGRAM
Children, teens and adults are invited to join the special Winter Reading Program at the Brea Library. Between December 19 and January 14 all ages will be reading books of their choice for a chance to win a great prize! Challenge yourself or your children to read 3 books this winter.
To start the process, pick up your reading log at the checkout desk when you’re in the library. Read any three books within the appropriate dates and record them on the log. Return your reading log to the library by 5 PM on January 14 to be entered in the opportunity drawing for a chance to win a great prize.
The event kicks off with a special visit from children’s entertainer Ken Frawley! On Monday, December 19 at 5 PM He will lead a sing-along to holiday songs and tell holiday folktales. Because this program is free, you will want to arrive early as space is limited.
To continue the holiday joy, a Holiday Sing-Along is planned for Wednesday, December 21 from 6 to 6:45 PM. Sip some hot cocoa as we sing some of your favorite holiday songs! Lyrics and music will be provided.
This is the first Winter Reading Program in a library with a long history of summer reading programs. It is being financed by the Friends of the Brea Library who had a very successful yard sale to raise the funds.
To celebrate the Library’s 95th Birthday we had a chalk art party. Who knew there were so many talented artists in Brea!
